I had "Absorber is almost full" error on my Canon Pixma MG2520. I clean the ink well pads and can not reset the Ink Absorber counter. I've tried dozens of reset attempts from the internet, Now I have 7 orange blinks and 5B00 "A print error has occurred".
Anyone have the reset process for the MG2520 ? Thanks for your help. Bob

The printer cannot be reset. It is considered a disposable printer. See this, and scroll down to "*PRINTERS THAT CANNOT RESET" and notice MG25xxs.

The service tool works with the printer, but you can only get some info, I think this is to verify the printer's warranty status.

Please only post your question in one thread.

This somehow conflicts with the info here for the MG2520 with the V5105 tool

2manuals.com/product_info.php?cPath=99&products_id=1860

Is there a difference between a MG2520 and a MG2520S - or other models with the suffix S as not being resettable ?

I think you are right that no suffix and S suffix models are different, so I think the MG2550s is resettable.

I also noticed that the Pro models 1, 10, 10s,100 and 100s are listed as compatible on the 2manuals page.

It also seems that V3800 is compatible with the MG2500 series printers, scroll down to V3800. I think this might mean that all newer (higher version number) service tools also are compatible.

I think the procedure to enter service mode on the MG2500 series printers is the "Standard 5 presses of the Stop/resume button" which can be seen here.

Access to service mode can be locked if a too old service tool (for instance V3200) has been used on the printer.
