the Fotonic inks are for use on Epson printers, not on a Canon IX6820

oh bummer.
They won't work with my Canon...
Dang.

Well after spending 3 days doing extensive testing, I have concluded that the ink i have been buying http://ebay.com/itm/201362489925 is not gonna cut it.

Not only did the guy send me contaminated containers. But once I finally got that problem sorted, the ink is still not up to par. The yellows and reds just don't pop.

Do you think I might have some luck with any of these?

Why you dont just buy PC inks from mike?
Is an exellent 3rd party ink and maches the OEM colur for sure.
Is also easy to modyfy the oem cartriges to have better ink flow to
printhead than the 3rd party cartridges.
As you mentioned you print on canvas.....with a good varnish your
prints will last many years.
When the CL-23 are avaliable you try them also and if the colour match
you will be a happy man.

There are two thing wrong here, one is the refillable carts themselves, They need far more attention every time you refill to keep them from suffering from ink starvation.

Two, using OEM’s is not that easy either, to refill OEM carts you’ll need to get the XL type carts and a resetter, this makes refilling of these OEM carts a lot easier, but initially more expensive.

While PC inks will be a good match for the OEM inks, they will fade just as fast as any other 3rd party inks will, while varnish will help overall, it won’t stop it.. CLl-23 inks are most likely the better option..

P.S. You can’t use pigment inks in your printer..

I have test the cli 581 cartridges (cli 281 for US) and the difference between simple and xxl (bigger than xl) was about 1,5 ml at refiling.I think that the cartridges are the same and just canon fill them with different amount of ink.Of course im not sure that at cli 251 happens the same....i just imagine.
