Hi everyone

When I print I have started to get a slightly blureed outline particularly on text. I have an online shop with orders coming in each day so really need to resolve the issue. I've followed some tips from a facebook Eco tank group and other things off the net but nothing has worked. So far i have ;

Done a nozzel check / cleaned the print heads / replaced the maintenance box / run power cleaning (The nozzel check is now all good after this) / downloaded software to reset the maintenance box as advised on the facebook group (it actually wasn't compatible with 7550) / gone through all the print alignment options on the maintenace menu.

But i still have the same issue. I've attached a picture so you can see what i mean.

I would really appreciate it if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks very much

Dan

There are several steps to follow - the nozzle check should be o.k. with no missing nozzles,
then try to run the printhead alignment via the utilities tab of the driver, and
if that does not fix the problem you need to clean the coding/timing strip which controls the positioning of the printhead carriage.
There is a small plastic stripe with about 5mm height running across the print bed and passing the printhead carriage on the back side through an optical sensor , this band is spoiled from ink fog emanating during the printing process and spoiling the reading of the bar pattern. The access to this stripe is somewhat difficult on some printers specifically with the scanner on top. I poke some Q-Tips onto a small pair of tweezers which I soak with a window cleaner

I try to get the coding strip between the tips and wipe it off; it may require several attempts, and there is a risk that you disengage that strip, it depends on your dexterity; you may use as well a piece of a kitchen paper towel instead.

Hi

Thanks for getting back to me. I've only had the printer since December and I'm a bit of a novice really. The first step you mentioned was to run the printhead alignment via the utilities tab of the driver. How do I do that? I've attached a picture of the epson software that i've got installed. Is that done on any of these? Also I'm using a mac

Thanks

Dan

I regret - I'm not familiar with the Mac version of the driver software, the user manual might help you.

I've just had a look and the manual only mentions print head alignment via the control panel on the printer. It doesn't seem to mention anything to do with software. Can I ask what you think is the best way to get me up and running again is. Do you think I might be best sending it somewhere to get serviced?

Thanks

Dan

do you know somebody with a Win10 computer and who could help you and install the driver software temprarily to get to the printhead alignment on the utility tab ? You may get into contact with Epson and ask them whether there is a way to start the printhead alignment via the frontpanel or to get it serviced - that very much woould depend on your resident country

Have you tried this suggestion made by @Ink stained Fingers yet… ?

Thanks for getting back to me the hat. I'm a bit of a novice really and have only had the printer since December. It has been used quite alot each day since then to fulfil orders from my shop. Do you think it is best to get it serviced maybe or is it something worth having a go at myself.

Thanks

Dan
