If there is anything else I can help you with, please return..:)

Do all new canon printers have disabled ink waste reset in service tool ?

Or only pro models ?

This move from Canon is against a french law against planned obsolescence. As a french, I would and will certainly sue them if my €1000 printer gets out of service because of a stupid locked ink waste counter I can fix myself!

Canon made it a policy about 7 years ago not to allow printer owners any further access to use the printers service mode, so all resetting must be carried out by a authorised Service Agent, to prevent printer obsolescence, simply return the printer for service..
Cute Hoors..:somad

Well, we have a law in my counry preventing this exact "fraud", so I'll surely use it when it is time
Either service my printer for free or you will get sued, period  (this is seriously infuriating)

But I have seen recent Canon printers from 2018 get resetted with Canon service tool so some models must still be resettable, right?

Canon are not breaking any laws, but they are certainly breaking our hearts.. :(

When you first install your new printer, but instead of dismissing their terms and conditions, as most of us do, look carefully where it clearly state they own the software that runs the printer, at that point you are given the option of saying you disagree..:hu

Well they are breaking our french law, maybe in Ireland you don't have suck law! We in France do have this and Apple and other brands have been paying millions of euros after being sued in my country!

It’s got nothing to do with the law, read the printer terms and conditions again, it’s printed there in black and white.. We’ve got the same EU laws here… No one messes with the ECJ..
I wish I was wrong...:hu
