I have Winxp sp3 installed in my PC and have an Epson stylus c45 inkjet printer connected. If I upgrade to Windows 7, will the printer work? If not then are there drivers available for the above printer that run under Win 7?

I have discovered that with very old Canon printers, the way to get them to work with Windows 7 or 8 is not to follow the instructions which say to install the drivers from the disk before plugging in the computer. Instead, you just make sure the computer is connected to the internet and plug in the printer. The Windows will then automatically find and install the drivers. On one Windows 8 system, the installation window that popped up had a check box at the bottom of the window that was not visible unless you scrolled down to it asking if you really wanted to download the drivers because it would take a long time on a slow connection. If you don't see that, then the drivers won't install. Maybe the same thing applies to Epson printers. It wouldn't surprise me.

Thanks for the suggestions. I shall certainly try after I upgrade to Windows 7.
