Printer = Epson RX585
CISS = Image specialist Dye based Claria Inks

I have been using this set up for over 2 1/2 years now with great results and now problems.
Recently I have been getting a light colour cast band for the first 5-8mm of a full page photo (borderless and borders)

I have done the usual head cleaning and flushed the full system..
Nozzle check is perfect yet I seem to still have this band of washedout magenta/yellow
its JUST at the front edge and regardless of which orientation the image or paper is printed..

ANY help or advice woutld be greatfully recieved.
Many thanks :)

Ok I manually entered it. How large is that paper and is it being fed length wise. This effect is often seen in borderless prints but you say it occurs regardless. I bet if you print am image composed as a fine art print with a border of say 1 incj all around, you won't see this problem.
Some may happening to the feed mechanism which may be causing causing this problem on the leading edge. Like I said, I;ve experienced on some printers when printing borderless but not when a border is included. It can happen at the beginning and end of the sheet of paper.

Try printing what I suggested.

i notice it occures on some paper and not on others. Like on HP Universal Instant Dry, i get stains at the begining of the fed paper length but it does not occur on plain paper and on epson heavy matt paper. I am thinking of cleaning the waste pads.

I opened a topic on how to clean a waste pad

Tried what you said and it occured BUT over a smaller band (2-3mm)

I finally decided to dissasemblr the print head and clean it with dichloroethylene which I got from work.
We use it to degrease machined parts and it WORKED !!!

So what ever was causing the banding appeares to have been blocked nozzles (i think???)

Anyway Thanks so vey much for the time you took to reply and your help.

I am still curious as to why it only affected the first 5-8mm of a borderless print and not the rest??
Anyway it seems to have solved my problem and I have since printed 22 full A4 photos from a recent trip
and they where ALL perfect from front to back.. :) :)

Thanks again '' jtoolman ''
