I have an Epson PX730WD Photo printer (Epson Artisan 730 in the US), I've been using compatible ink cartridges to try save on the ink costs but have found that the colors tend to fade rather quickly as opposed to when I have used the Epson original claria ink cartridges.

I am considering purchasing a CISS system or refillable carts (see my previous post h**p://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=8284) but I am unsure which would be the best ink to use with my printer? or which type of system to go for?

Could anyone tell me which would be the best choice of system/ink to use? Dye or Pigment ink?

The only thing I can say about the site you mentioned is they are way too expensive for such a cheap low cost ink system.

I am not into Epson printer myself but try the link below for a much better,
cheaper system with known good quality ink and a far more competent supplier into the bargain.

Thank you for the link, much better prices than my original link. I just read that I would have to modify my printer for the cis system to work & that is something I would not be able to do as I disabled. Therefore can you recommend a good cartridge refill system (thats not too fiddly) for my printer? Also what would be the best ink to buy for the system that will give good colours on glossy paper that won't fade quickly?

If you still want to go with the cityinkexpress CISS then go back to their site and have a look at their video,
it doesnt mention anything about modification in the Video Demo.

The inks supplied by cityinkexpress are good quality as is this site www.octoink.co.uk/
but as I dont use an Epson printer so I dont exactly know where to get the best stuff for their printers sorry..

The one with ink seems good value, and the video says you do not have to remove anything as there is no longer a magnetic lid sensor, it just says to use one of the plastic bits in the lid sensor opening.

I use inks from here, you need the premium black, cyan, magenta and yellow on page two

Then the photo cyan and photo magenta on page three, these are the light cyan and light magenta equivalents

If you do buy from there, remember the free gift :) and the delivery charge

I have a friend who uses the cityinkexpress CISS with a PX730WD and he is pleased with it, and the after sales.
