I recently got the amazing Epson Artisan 800 for a bargain price and I must say that I really like it so far. This means the IP4500 has to go (lack of space)... unfortunately. The damn thing is working like new (check the recent nozzle check below and the EEPROM printout) and I always refilled OEM Canon carts with either Image Specialists ink (from Mikling) or Sensient Formulabs (that I got as samples).

The printer has some scratches but everything is working as it should, even the printable-CD tray.

As I am not sure if it is safe to ship the printer with ink carts in it, I would prefer to sell it locally (Montral). But I also know that a lot of Canon fans are looking for that particular model for its built quality and easy to refill cli-8 carts.

My question: Should I sell it on ebay, to international buyers, or would it be better to sell it locally?

Thanks for any advice. And do not hesitate to make an offer if you want to.

Unless you have the original box, it is best to sell it locally. Packing a printer in another box is a lot of work. If the carts are not totally sealed and is shipped by air, the air inside the ink reservoir will expand when the plane reaches a high altitude and will make a mess when the ink bubbles out the vent. If it is sold without cartridges and shipped by air, then the head should be completely flushed of ink so that it will not clog when it is shipped without cartridges.

If you are patient, you will definitely find a buyer in Montreal. Kijiji and Craigslist are your best avenues in the computer accessories section.
