Epson printer cartridges don't last that long and require resetting the memory chip in order to refill by DIY. I bought a chip reset tool but the pins do not align with the gold contacts of the chip. The 2960 printer has a different chip contact configuration than most other Epson printers, hmmmm! Do they make a reset tool in the configuration of the 222 cartridge? Also, the chip does not have a hole into which you can push a paper clip to reset the print counter. Any help would be appreciated. And I hate to see my refill supplies go to waste. Thanks.

I have not yet resolved the issue. I have all the materials to refill cartridges, but still no way to reset print counting chip. I'll keep searching sites that sell resetters in case one becomes available for my cartridge chip configuration. Thanks for asking.

Don't know if this thread is still alive, but I've got a WF2960, and have found the 3rd party cartridges from EZink (bought from Amazon) work just fine. Now, mind you, I did heed the warnings seen both on this group and other Web discussions, that opting-in for firmware updates allows Epson to change this situation and make 3rd party cartridges useless. So not only did I opt-out for updates, but I also rigged my Wi-Fi router to deny the printer Internet access, although it still has LAN communications. So far this has worked just fine, except that I now see that EZink no longer offers these cartridges. Other AMazon vendors do, however, and claim 100% compatibility, plus free returns if there's a problem; I guess I'll find out if this is true next time I have to replace.
