Apparently there has been some instances of HP printers receiving print cartridge errors after downloading an HP printer update, which was sent to HP printer customers, by HP. The printers in question use the hp92 cartridges, and only seems to happen to the refilled or remanufactured cartridges, after this update has been installed. Seems as though HP has updated either their firmware or the drivers for these printers, to hamper the use of non OEM cartridges.

All 3rd party HP92s are actually OEM but refilled cartridges.
HP has some patents on updating the firmware on the printer through an automatic process when a new driver is loaded. If this is the case, then even if the new driver has been removed, the warnings will likely exist even with the old driver.
