This is to all interested people that refill their own ink carts. I've been a member of the Forum for over 2 years and contributed what information and knowledge that I have. I have also learned an enormous amount from this web site. I have just found out about a change in bulk ink supplies that has really shocked me and I want to warn everyone that I may have mislead for a long time.

I ordered a new chip setter kit from Atlanticinkjet.com,(which is the same as "Re-inks/Easy Groups LLC"). I have used this store for a long time and have recommeded it to many of the people I have worked with and helped. However, I have always used "Image Specialist" ink in by pixma printers and only used bulk ink from Atlanticinkjet for older printers like the i550, etc. I never really had any problem, but of course one of my specialties is that I KNOW how to take good care of my printers.

I received my order today and was TOTALLY SHOCKED when I opened the box and discovered GENERIC "UNI-KIT" BLACK ink. I have been opposed to anyone that sells UNIVERSAL INK, as I believe there is no such thing. To me, all that UNI-KIT ink is cheap colored water ++ who knows what.

So I called them just now to find out if this was a mistake because what I ordered from their web site was a combo pak for Canon CLI-8 Black ink + the chip setter. I didn't need the ink because I buy mine in quart containers from PrecisionColors.com, but I thought I might just check their latest stuff. When I complainted that there must have been some mistake, I was infomed that Atlanticinkjet has changed and they now only supply UNI-KIT universal ink for every printer order. I was more than shocked, I was humiliated, for I have a link in my profil that recomments atlanticinkjet.com. Or at least I used to, not anymore.

So I want to appogize to everyone that may have used my profile infomation as a guide on where to buy ink. I've learned another hard lesson today. By the way, I'm keepting the chip resetter and they will credit me a refund for the cost of their ink. They don't even want it back.

Thanks for this post....I have been buying bulk inks from them for several years and always have been satisfied. I will contact their owner, Richard, to find out what is going on..This is sad to see....they must be having financial difficulties. Bummer.I have just written to the owner of Atlantic Inkjet, who up until now has been selling ink from Image Specialists..an excellent ink.

I am finding it difficult to find info about this DURAFIRM ink, but research tells me that more and more ink and cartridge suppliers are switching to Durafirm. Although a "universal" ink, they claim that this is more archival than standard dye inks, and have excellent colour .

Anyone have any experience with these inks..and anyone know who makes them?
I'm still waiting to hear from Atlantic, but perhaps someone here has more info??
