Using pigment in Brother printer: possible ?

I am looking for a friend, since her Canon IX4000 printer suffered from a shortcut and need a new printer which is easily refillable. I am looking at a Brother 5890cn all-in-one (fax, copier, printer, LAN-based) which I think is a feasible alternative to the IX4000, since it can print up to A3 and reasonable priced and there are easy-refill cartridges, which can be easily refille by using an funnel and just pouring the ink in.

I have heard Brother uses piezographic printheads, so it might be possible to use pigment ink, but can someone confirm this ?
