Troubleshooting HP officejet 5510

Soo.. I found this printer at the dump needless to say. I had to buy the cords to get it working and it works, I know really cool. On the flipside, the printer has problems.

So when this is all connected, it's saying that there is a printer cartridge error: see product documentation. To solve my problems, is there anyway of fixing this without spending money or quick and easy solutions to get it working.

Ps I dont mind taking on a challenge like this to be self-efficient or fixing things. Hence the username. I want to make mistakes so I can learn.

Again there’s no such thing as a free lunch, just put the printer back where you found it and give some other guy a chance to fix it, and then they can do the very same..
