Trouble with a HP-tri-color 95 cartridge help!

I recently filled a cartridge for a first refill, the yellow got muddy from the magenta,I cleaned it out and put new yellow in it all colors were there, then the yellow stopped so I put more yellow in thinking I didn't fill enough, then the other two colors quit and only the yellow works, and the cartridge keeps leaking from the fill holes, does any-one know why?

Yes...overfilling!!

It is always best to underfill..especially when you are new to refilling. Take out a few ccs of ink from each colour chamber, and you should be OK.

I overfilled once - got pretty messy. After that I usually put 1-2 ml of ink less than the cartridge's capacity.
