Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a shelf life on Toner cartridges, and HP Laserjet specifically is that makes a difference?
What goes wrong with them.
Toner?
Other parts in them?

How quickly do they go bad.

Thanks
:/

Hi from India,

Have been using HP lasers for about 17 years now and the following observations apply:

Sealed original OEM Toner cartridges can be safely used even after 3 years without any ill effect.

As the toner powder as the name implies is dry in form, Moisture is the no 1 enemy, moisture in the atmosphere along with the moisture in the paper can create problems. A good tip is to light a small bulb in the paper storage area keeps the paper dry and crisp and fewer jams and uses less ink.

Just physically checked a sealed toner cart box that was purchased 2 years ago and it does not have an expiry date nor a use before.......... label so I guess shelf life is not really a problem for at least a couple of years.

Hope this helps,

Rgds,

Jasii
