I've been working on DIY Silk Screens to add art & text to my pottery. As noted in the topic, I'm hoping to gain a better understanding of the best approach for printing the transparent positives with the darkest result.
Current Setup:
Photoshop 23.4.1 (subscription) to create my halftones; both line art and color separations..Photoshop set to 300 DPI for original artwork.
Canon ip8720 purchased new in August of 2021.
using OEM inks.
Current settings in PS:
PS manages colors using Canon ip8700 Series PT1 ICC profile
Rendering Intent: Saturation

Finally, a homebuilt 24" x 30" UV LED light source @ 6" from the platen using 2700 smd UV LEDs.

First off, I generally believe the postives are decent quality in terms of black saturation, but I'm not sure about the UV blocking characteristics of the black & grey inks.
I have experimented with letting the printer manage colors, but that's resulted in far less density.

Question regarding ink usage:
I see only the standard black and grey being used, the photo grey/black cartridge is not being used (level never drops).
Would appreciate suggestions. Again, I don't think I'm dissatisfied with current results, but wondering if they could be better.
TIA,
Bob
