A big thanks to our member "The Hat" for reporting a spammer that joined and started messaging members. We quickly came in and banned the spammer!
Our forum is a big target for these spammers, which are all over the world, that set out to push their stuff on our community. For the most part our group does a fantastic job of finding and removing them very quickly, but unfortunately sometimes they are able to get a few shots off before we can squish them.
If you are browsing the forum and notice anything that seems like spam please click the report button. In the most recent case, the spammer was not posting on the forum, so there wasn't a "post" to report.
"The Hat" did the absolute best thing by simply clicking the report link on one of our great member's posts and basically said, "I'm not reporting this post, but am reporting member xxx yyy that is spamming the forum."
The report link sends an email to a group of people and helps to ensure that someone will be able to jump onto the forum and swiftly block the spammer.
Thanks to all those that make this forum great and help us keep it clean from spammers and a friendly place to ask questions and exchange ideas!
