I have an Epson L1800 with Chinese flatbed base. I have found it is sensitive to the lube on the carriage rod - after a while it starts to drag and the image becomes fuzzy - does anyone know the correct lube? I am using spray lube with MoS2(sprayed onto a tissue, then applied)

I have about 20 old printheads, from which I think the front plate has become detached. Does anybody repair them?

I also have an L355 which is also pretty good. The inks it requires are Epson 664 - I have the 673 for the L1800. Is the L1800 ink ok for the L355? (Using ecosolvent on the L1800)

Thanks IA, Stuart.

P.S. Did anyone ever publish a (3rd party) manual for the L1800?

P.P.S. Still looking for a +/- 1 pixel start position solution - possibly using a 3rd party encoder, or enclosing the original encoder.

Grease - look it up in a maintenance manual - Epson uses a G-71 to grease about every spot and part

I'm not familiar with a 3rd party replacement for that

- there is a L1800 maintenance manual on the internet, I'm not aware of any 3rd party L800/1800 manual - are you looking for a user manual ?
-Yes, you can use the L1800 inks (not the light inks) in the L355 w/o problem, the L300 inks are pretty poor in regards to the fading performance, the L800/1800 inks are somewhat better in this respect.
