Hi all.

I have reset the waste counter to a Pixma Pro 10S, with little use, with the service tool V5204.
The printer is installed via USB and WIFI.
I think it is important not to use old versions of the service tool program (because it can block the service mode), and when it opens, perform some action such as pressing EEPROM.
I put the printer in service mode, connected by WiFi and through the 5 presses, with each press of the cancel button the white and amber leds light up interspersed, and lastly the power button but not at the same time. Everything in a slow way.
Then with paper in the printer tray, connect the usb cable and open Service Tool V5204.
On the Main page press EEPRON and the information sheet is printed, and in D = the % of Ink Absorber Counter is displayed.
Click on the Ink Absorber Counter Set with the value at 0, and print another sheet to verify that it has passed.
I think the described is quite accurate because I try to memorize everything for the next time I have to repeat it.
The program has a key, and pay €5,5 by ebay, The seller does not continue to sell it and is the ¨Canon ST v 5204 Service tool 5204 unlimited for 1PC¨.
Windows defender reports a virus alert when the program is launched. Knowing what it means.
If the counter is reset more than once, it is a good idea to find a solution for the ink waste pad.

This is good news.
Although I doubt about the 5 presses since on the very similar PRO-100 it seems to be 4 (very old information). BTW on the PRO-9500 it is 2.
But this is not a major issue.

I bought a ST5204 version recently on a different site but the first screen looks the same.
Didn't have the courage to test it on my PRO-10 yet :eek:.

The solution for the waste ink is a printer potty.
@The Hat posted detailed instructions for the PRO-9500 and I was able to do this with success.
Since the innards of the PRO-10 are very similar, it can be done on this printer too.

I've seen the good post from The Hat, but if you could put pictures of the different things from the Pro 10 printer opening, that would be fine.

Watch some Canon printer disassembling videos, the principles are always the same.
You still have time to find this out :).

I can only tell you what I do, and I have reset the printer with 5 consecutive keystrokes.

Good news about the Pro10s.
I'm afraid though that I locked the service mode of my Pro10s when I tried an older version of the service tool.
Nevertheless , when/if the counter of my printer reaches full, I'll give a try to the V5.204, just in case.

P.S.
Maybe the Pro10s needs 5 presses to enter service mode and the Pro10 or Pro100 only 4 ?

I don't know, I have not tried any other combination.
