I've searched but either cannot find or have overlooked a way of telling/resetting Canon's Print Driver that all the ink tanks are full.

I have used some non-oem carts, which didn't trip the low ink warning for some reason, and when I installed a new OEM cart, it still shows half empty, as before.

Anyway of working around the software?

On the older printers, you need to install an empty cart, close the lid, and print something to cause the printer to look at the sensor and find the empty cart. When you install a non-empty cart, the printer will declare it as full.

But why do anything? The ink levels indicated by the printer are only reliable when it tells you that a cart is low (there is no ink left in the ink chamber), and that feature should still work.

I had a S800 that wouldn't tell me when the ink got low. I tried a few tricks with the cartridges to no avail. One time for some reason I had to remove the driver, the ink warning started to work after that. Reinstalling the drive may or may not work for you.
