A friend recently refilled his printer cartridge (Lexmark) but the printer will not print - it seems to want another cart.

He noticed that a file Lx-Cats contains files that contain cartID's and maxcartPages.

If he changed these would the printer accept the refilled cart?

Thanks

Delete the LX-Cats file completely, it is not required to print. I don't know if this will solve your preasent problem, it may be an electronics fault on the cartridge itself, they do burn out easily.

Don't delete them. Just rename them in case you need the files back.

Lexmark ink cartridges are very tricky to refill. It seems a lot of them stopped working once refilled. Don't know why really.
