You have made an inkjet printer enter laser territory, I'm really impressed :thumbsup

Your numbers prove that good refill technique, good inks and regular use are keys to inkjet printer longevity. :clap

For home use I think the PGI-5/CLI-8 generation of printers was the best Canon made.
:)

agreed on the build quality of the PGI-5/CLI-8 generation of printers

i'm big on spares.... have a spare MP830, IP4500 and two MX700s all the PGI-5/CLI-8 generation of printers. also a few MX860/870s..... can you say "printer hoader".....

FYI, looks like canon only stocks print heads for 5 years. i tried to order a spare MP830 print head and found out they no longer are available after 5 years.

i passed on the new/re-manufactured ones from china and found a new genuine canon print head for $79.

been very fortunate on the 49,000 pages, will be interesting to see how long the MP830 can go.

PeterBJ has is right, daily use, good quality inks/carts and a little luck all lead to printer longevity.
