I have the roll of TPU I mentioned purchasing here: https://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/tpu-gonna-give-it-a-try-any-suggestions-tips-tricks.15358/

I don't use it much... not a lot of use-cases come my way, or I'm still stuck in the thinking "I don't have / can't print TPU".

Well, my GF has some of those Mason jars that seal with a mechanical clasp, and the gasket was TOTALLY dry / brittle. Sure I could buy them on Amazon for $1 each, but I figured I'd give my TPU a try, and it worked perfectly!

The only settings I changed from my PLA printing:
  • Layer height: .2
  • Nozzle temp: 230
  • Bed temp: 45
  • Speed: SUPER slow: 20 mm/s
  • Didn't change retraction or anything else.
An easy "test" since there wasn't any chance of stringing, etc. on such a simple print.

That a great idea, I might even give my Flexi filament a try using your settings..

P.S. I had stored it away to be never seen again..

I'm sure I'd need to tweak a LOT more of the settings to do anything that's more complex and has overhangs, etc.

Oh, I failed to mention the big change besides speed: Layer height set to .2!

There is a simple mod for some of the Creality extruders that basically puts a V shape at the end of the Bowden tube nearest the extruder gear. It helps to stop the TPU being twisted and jamming up the extruder.

I found this video really interesting. I kinda like the idea of using a more ridged TPU for "solid" prints for durability:

Handy material for soem applications but as for his example of the cellphone holder that kept breaking I think a better design would help and lets face it, most commercial holders are made from ABS and are strong. Also you need to take into consideration the cost of TPU filament compared to ABS.

The advantage - you can print TPU without an enclosure unless it's a big print that needs protection from warping
