Printing envelopes on Canon i-9900

Several months ago I replaced my Canon S-9000 with a i-9900.

I never had problems printing on envelopes with my S9000.

Recently I tried printing out envelopes on my i-9900 with very bad results.

The envelopes come out with blacks smudges on different parts of the envelope.

My S-9000 had a thckness adjustment, which I cannot find on my i-9900.

I tried several different types of envelopes, including #10 business envelopes
with the same problem.

Does anyone have any idea as to what may be causing the probllem and
how I may rectify it.

In the i9900 that adjustment is software controlled. In settingup your printer go to printer preferences, pritnter maintenance, custom settings, check prevent paper abrasion.

That should do the trick.

I never realized it was controlled by the software.
