Printer Model
Epson Surecolor P-800
After trying for hours i was finally able to remove the pushpin that had fallen to inside the paperpath of my Espon P-800.
The moment I removed it i plugged it back in, checked the supply levels (cartridges are mostly over 50%) and ran a nozzle check.
That check revealed that the printer appears to be functioning properly in all respects except that no ink is being applied to the paper! I have done many more nozzle checks in the days since that happened and even sent an 8 x 10 photo through the printer and still nothing...not even a speck of ink. Normally after not having used it for a week or two there would be some issues with the yellow and cyan but the rest would still be 100%.
My only guess as to why this is happening is that in attempting to remove the pin from the printer, on several occasions I balanced the printer on its side and shaked it a little - even holding it partially upside down for short periods, working with a metal wire, hoping gravity would help the pin to fall out.
Having no understanding about the mechanics oif this printer, wondering if the ink is pressurized by the printer, not knowing what makes the ink flow from the cartridges onto the paper, has rendered me clueless as to what's happening and how to fix it.
Any ideas?
