A lot of profiling solutions provide direct printing option like chromix color valet suite, PrintFIX package also allows direct printing support.

The question is if I'm profiling my printing software Why I should use other application to send data to the printer? There is not standard way to send data to the printer in Windows and OS X.

So what you think? I always use my printing software to print the target and my photos. Or is it wrong?

Smile,

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly, but it is possible to use custom printer profiles with the standard Windows Photo Printing Wizard (at least with Canon printers - see http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=625#p625 for details).

I have never used Chromix or PrintFIX, so I can't give an opinion on either of them. I have printed through Photoshop, but I find that it is not all that user friendly, especially when printing multiple photos. I use Qimage for all of my printing; it is color aware (including soft proofing), easy to use, supports multiple paper and image sizes, allows multiple prints on a single sheet and has superior interpolation routines that automatically uprez your images to the native pixel size used by your printer (http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/quality/).

There is no single "right" way to print. If what you are using works for you and you are satisfied with your workflow, you are using the right software package for you.
