Well, I got a laser printer for b/w, but I figured I should still have an inkjet as a backup, besides I really need a scanner.

Criteria:

1)Must be cheap, or relatively cheap. Don't need super quality - I mostly scan just b/w documents and I barely ever print photos. If I can get descent quality printer for cheap, I'd be happy off course.

2)Third party cheap ink must be readily available, and the printer must work well with it. Refilling must be easy.

3)Duplex printing option is an absolute must.

4)Printer must be easy to find and buy in online stores or ebay.

No pressing need for fax. Don't need wi-fi.

Thanks very much.

Please note, that if buying a printer WITHOUT a scanner gives me better options as far as refilling and cheap ink goes, I'll happily give up the scanner and buy it separately. In this case please recommend me a regular printer.

Yeah you can't go wrong with an ip4600. Just buy a scanner separately and you can then get an actual decent scanner. I love my Lide 200 scanner, I can scan and print photos and without them side by side you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Thanks guys. I'll take your advice. Where do you buy ink for your printers?
