Pigment Ink for Epson Artisan 1430

I've recently bought the Epson Artisan 1430 and just read that whatever ink cartridge you initially use the first time in it is what the printer will "set" itself to. I bought pigment ink from PrintPayLess to use in it, but now I'm nervous to try it as I don't want it to be low quality ink and not be able to switch to a different supplier. Does anyone have any experience switching the Epson 1430 to pigment ink and if so who do you go through for your ink if you've found a good supplier? Thanks!
