Well here is the result of a pinched waste ink tube in a Canon MP500:

This was quite a messy repair job, but now the printer is OK again.

A couple of examples of some playing around with very strong back-lighting. Not that much artistic merit but I do like the overall effect and the white background saves a bit of ink!

My MP500 failed the same way. It appears to be an assembly issue?
