Last week it was a mouse chewed pencil, this week it is a squirrel chewed off bird perch, made of aluminium. Yes, this was actually chewed off by a squirrel, in fact he or she chewed off the other one on the other side of the bird feeder as well. They are tough grey squirrels in the UK, imported from the USA.

Imagine what he could do with your finger, including the bone.

It seems that he has reasoned, that if he removes the two perches, he will be able to remove the bottom and get at the nuts.

We hung it up again and a little later he was back at it.

I hope he doesn't get at your nuts!

We used to have one (a female) that would eat peanuts out of your hand.
We've seen 'em all over the years, from one that was friendly like yours to one that was a psychopath who would chase you, throw nuts and chewed off branches down on you and urinate on the car from high up in the tree. Who knew squirrels had huge bladders. Of course the squirrels loved to chew on the wire that brought cable tv into the house, so the cable company was out periodically to repair the damage.

Mr. Psychopath one day fell to the driveway and that was the end of his years long reign of terror. Never fear, another rat with a bushy tail took his territory.

Don't even get me started about the chipmunks.

This will fix even the most determine squirrel...:ya

Clever idea but I reckon he is scattering enough seeds on the ground each time to keep him fed.

Yes, they do scatter the sunflower seeds, but like all male bird feeders, they prefer to hold onto their nuts.
So, your squirrel goes home dizzy and hungary..:smack
P.S. See we got @RogerB's POW to enjoy for another week..:thumbsup
