Here, here, Jackies35. When you sell the print for $10 for an 8x10, it makes little difference if the ink cost was 25 cents a page or 75 cents a page.
Back in the late 90s I was going to sci fi conventions and doing photocomposites and special FX for people in costumes. We charged $35 for an 8x10 (that includes the photocomposite) and printed using either a Fargo Primera Pro dye sub (about $3 a page including paper) or a Canon BJC 610 (about $1.50 a page including paper). I could have dropped my cost for the inkjet by refilling or finding cheaper 3rd party cartridges, but it wasn't worth it to me to potentially save 25 cents per print out of $35.
