PGI-5 and CLI-8 carts in an iP3000?

I have read that PGI-5 and CLI-8 carts are backward compatible and can replace BCI-3eBK and BCI-6.

If this is correct will it be ok to just replace a BCI-3eBK with a PGI-5 in a iP3000.

Thanks
Ron.

The CLI-8 should do well, For the PGI-5 I found it little bit difficult to put in my MP780. I had to cut away some plastic for matching. Don't know why.......

Hi there Pharmacist,

What or where exactly did you have to trim/cut plastic off the PGI-5 cartridge to make it fit in a BCI-3e slot?
They look virtually identical but you are right in that it doesn't quite snap in or fit properly.
