Have just acquired two empty PG545XL carts for my TS3150.
At the moment I'm using the original (refilled) PG545 which came with the machine.
Being new to the "refill club" am wondering which is the best way to go ahead, do I:
Clean and refill the XLs now , then store them for future use, if so how to store.
or, Leave the carts as they came (one had been refilled, the other just empty from new)
I have the ISO... and a holder, together with the syringe and ink ready to go if advised!!
many thanks.

I have no TS3150, but a IP7250, a TS705 and a TS9150 and have tried refilling all of them.
IMO: Do not even try!.
Apart from the work, you will have problems with getting the right colors in pictures.
I do pictures on TS9150 and TS705 with OEM ink (expencive, but works),
I do unimportant color prints on IP7250 with refill and alternatively compatable ink.
Black print is done by HP-laser.

Thanks H, I perhaps should have mentioned that these carts are black only.
I agree with you re the colour carts.
By a big coincidence I have an IP7250 which has packed in, am looking to
restore with parts from another IP7250 (I hope!)

Here is a detailed instruction for refilling Canon. It is old but the new and old cartridges are the same design so the instruction is still valid. It is in German, but you could use Google translate if necessary.

Here is another instruction, in English.

The nominal capacities for the PG545 and PG545XL are 8 and 16 ml.
