Officejet 45 catrigde

I just bought a genuine HP 45 black ink catridge and i didnt know that it expired on MAY 2006, what happens if i use expired ink in my printer

It will probably work fine as long as it is still sealed in its packaging. There is still 4 months before expiration. It will probably be OK still even 12 months later. I have used very old HP cartridges (different model) that had long passed expiration date. They all worked fine.
