just ran a nozzle check on my canon MP830, noticed that the lines on the PGBK are not straight. see image below. tried the auto print head alignment, re-ran nozzle check, pattern came out the same. then read on this forum that it looks like the lines are not supposed to be straight across.

The nozzle check looks as it should.

There are some bluish dots left of center in the magenta, one between the two magenta stripes, and one right of center in the yellow. Are these artifacts from scanning the paper, are they in the paper itself, or are your prints showing these artifacts?

This is a thorough test that shows individual missing nozzles (yours are all printing).

Look at the test pattern as having 16 "rows" and 32 "columns". In the first column, nozzles 1,33,65,97,....481 are fired; in the second column, nozzles 2,34,66,98,...482 are fired; and so on until the last (32nd) column where nozzles 32,64,96,128,....512 are fired. This is why the "rows" are tilted.

stratman and G-dad, thx for the quick responses.
