Well I got me a new canon lide 200 scanner, it's pretty good and I just got my MIS ink. Can't wait to profile it with all my different papers. But one thing strikes me as funny. I got a refrigerator magnet and it is printed pretty poorly, something I wouldn't expect from a highly regarded ink company :p Here's a scan.

Hi QD!

Feels awkward making a suggestion to a person as experienced as you.

Your yellow looks OK The Blue seems to have streaks and the Black text looks jagged.
I would attribute it to an air lock in the cart. Even the best ink will give poor results if the quality of empty is not upto the mark. If I was you I would do a complete evacuation of old ink, purge the cart and refill again.

jasiiboss,
I think this was meant as a joke, being from MIS (Image Specialist inks), and being one of the most respected providers of ink. With that, one would expect better printing.

All i am trying to convey is:

A quality printout is dependent on:
Quality of Ink
Quality of Empty
Quality of refill process

In this case no 1 & 3 should be OK so that leaves ???????

qwertydude,

How are you doing your profiling? I use Profile Prism and also have the LiDE 200. Just recently starting using VueScan Pro with Profile Prism and the results seem better. Also just ordered new IT8.2 targets from Wolf Faust (coloraid.de) and am awaiting their delivery. My original target that came with Prism is about 4 years old. Faust's website said to replace the target at least every two years. I use IS inks also, but get them from Precision Colors. Interested in hearing about your profiling experiences and how you do the profiling.

Profile prism, same here. I might look into using vuescan later on down the line, but right now I'm happy with what I've got. I really can't tell the difference with a profiled cheaper ink like I'm currently using, stratitec, and oem ink and paper. I bought 5x500 ml extra large bottles a little over a year ago and am now just running out hence time for a new ink like mis, and I thought I should get a new scanner too to help with the profiling, I was currently using an old hp all in one, which is not nearly as good as the lide 200.
