Hi All.....:)
This is my first post here.
I kinda noob about printing.
I'm going to buy my first printer.
I'm looking for a Mono Laser Printer.
I want to refill myself.
I heard that new printer are hard to refill.
Which of the following printer should I buy ?
1.Samsung ML-2245
2.HP P1006/7
3.Brother HL-2140

You can also suggest me other model too.
But I have to confirm if that is available in area or not.
Please do not mention any Online Store related thing cos I'm from remote part of the world.
Thanks.....

Thanks!
I have found another one,Canon LBP-2900B.
So,which of the printer is easy to refill ?
I mean just pour the ink into the cartridge and ready to go.
Or,are they not refillable like modern inkjet.
Like they have chip to prevent using refillable cartridges.
And if that's the case then please suggest me the economical and reliable one.
I have to use original cartridges.
So,cost per page, quality of print and reliability are the main issue.....

When you buy a cartridge for some laser printers you get the choice of low volume or high volume usage that way you can choose which and save on your print jobs. There are some who give you a free drum with every cartridge purchased too deter you (I presume) from using 3rd party cartridges or refilling your old one. That too has its own cost savings. Its not as clear cut as inkjets.. ;)

Yea,with a new Samsung ML-2245 Mono Laser Printer I will get an extra cartridge and a drum too.....:)
No other model offering this.
But don't know the drum for using 3rd party cartridge or for Samsung original cartridge ?
And I have no idea if they high volume or low volume cartridges.
I'm afraid to take Samsung cos their after sale service is not good in my area.
But HP got better reputation.
BTW,in to days modern world is there any printer(doesn't matter inkjet or laserjet) which has no chip ?
I mean just pour the ind into the cartridge and u ready to go.

After lot of search I found that original cartridge will better suite me than refill.
Cos first refill is too complex and then its price almost same(in my case) as original cartridge.

Refill Kit+Shipping Charge(India) > Original Cartridge

So,I have decided to go with original cartridges doesn't matter inkjet or laserjet.
Now tell me which will be better for B&W printing ?
Please suggest me a good model so that running cost will be less.
My average requirement will be 200 pages per month,it may be increases if price per page cost become cheaper.....:(

As I said earlier a laser printer (in this case Samsung) that offer a new drum with a toner cartridge is a great way of keeping the running cost down with this type of printer. If you decide on a peculiar printer, check the toner cartridge numbers and will see two different numbers for high/low volume usage and get the one with the higher volume, its much better value per sheet printed. All laser printers offer this choice to the purchaser when replacing their cartridges. I have had a Samsung laser printer now for about 5 years (8000 sheets) and never had the need for any service; really there is nothing that can go wrong with any laser printer other than toner/drum issues which gets replaced when empty. Heres a useful tip, you can reduce your cost by setting you printer to 300 dpi for 99% of your work and only using 600 dpi for graphics and pictures the cost saving with this method is huge. Lets hope this information comes in useful to you when making you decision.. :)

You mean When I will be buy a new cartridge I should always look for high volume cartridges ?
And laser printers got more robust health than Inkjet ?

Thats the idea always try to get value for money. That doesnt mean buying the cheapest. A laser printer will out do an inkjet by miles. If you do your text printing at 300dpi you will save about 50% without reducing the print quality and if can buy your paper in bulk theres another 30% saving. Good luck..

But I must have to find a low running cost Inkjet for color pages and a scanner soon.
Though color pages and scan will be very rare.
May be I will buy a HP F4488 AIO.
Alas refill is not so easy for me cos I'm noob.....:(
