Does anyone know if these 2 new printers are still refillable ?
Can it be forced to resume printing like before (like IP3500/4500) ?

If they completely block the printer now, I'd better run to the shop now to buy another IP3500 for backup.

Not sure about this, but I found something else about Canon latest printers. It seems that those printers are programmed to clean the printhead more periodically compared to the PGI-5Bk/CLI-8 based printers (IP3500/IP4200/IP4300 etc). Not only will this cost you more ink, even when you are not printing, but it also triggers the ominous "waste ink tank full" message all the sooner. The PGI-520 cartridges has a yield of 325 pages at 5 % coverage and the PGI-5Bk 550 pages.... Both cartridges have the same price label........

Well, I just bought another IP3500 for my own safety.
The future is bleaker, and I don't wanna bet.
Besides, the new printer doesn't seem to be much better anyway.
Mostly only marketing gimmicks, new protection, and new consumer traps
Better safe than sorry. LOLL
