need help to decide about new printer

Hi
i want to buy new printer for my office and i have few questions
1-i heard that if i use a water-based highlighter on dye ink printed paper the ink will smear, is that right? what about pigment ink printed paper? do pigment ink water resistant properties is comparable with laser printing?
2-can anyone make a comparison between thermal heads and piezo heads based on life?(high workload ...)

Correct. Using a highlighter on Dye-based ink can cause streaking/smearing of the printed text. A good quality Pigment-based ink will provide comparable results to a laser printer. Make sure the Pigment-based ink is not a mixture or Dy and Pigment inks but of 100% Pigment-based ink. Inks such as Image Specialists and KMP are known to provide excellent results concerning the use of highlighters. Other inks may be good as well, though others on the forum will need to post their opinions.

Also, use a proper inkjet paper for best results.

Others will need to comment on this. If you need excellent text output that will stand up to highlighting AND in a high workload environment then purchase a laser printer.

Get yourself brother MFC if possible without chips, or look for compatible refillable carts first on ebay for model you are going to buy.
