Its the only one that appeals to me because all the others have such terrible wastage. Whether it lives up to the hype remains to be seen but it has certainly shook up the other manufacturers.

Yep, the solution to tremendous waste is fantastic.

That said, I get nervous about having exponentially more hotends and bits and bobs to potentially fall apart and have problems.

I guess if they can prove sustained reliability, then it doesn't matter?

As far as I know the completed hotend contains the heater and thermistor and is built in one piece so two screws and two cable connectors and it's out and easily swapped. I think the price of the hotends will be cheap too, currently they are $12 each on offer. also think Trianglelabs and other 3rd party vendors will soon have their own equivalents. With over 20,000 potential orders there is a definite market for 3rd parties.
