Hello all.

As you can see this is my first post but I have spent several hours browsing the forum to try and find the answer I need, but have had difficulty doing so.

My MP830 has shot craps on me (error message indicates the printer head is not the correct head) and I need advice about what to do. I do refill cartridges and have been utterly confused by what's going on with Canon's 220/221 cartridges from reading this forum. Should I:

1) Purchase a new print head for my MP830 in hopes that resolves the issue?

2) Purchase a new MX870 for $100 and begin refilling it?

3) Purchase something else (Epson, Brother, etc.) to begin refilling

As you can see, my price range is in the $100 area. I do home printing, but no high-volume printing. My biggest concern is reliability and ease of refilling over quality.

Thank you for any advice or links to old threads that I couldn't find that you can provide me.

Brother all the way... VERY easy to refill: it's just a tank, very accessible. Mine is over 3 years now, and I'm using CHEAP, CHEAP inks :D (~1/100ml).
See my posts: I don't dislike Brother printing quality but I was caught by MX870 duplex facility and (to be proven) better printing quality (faster too!).
