I may have a problem with the purge unit but before I purchase one, I like to know if anyone has an idea why the printhead carriage can be manually moved even if the power is on and when the printer is turned on it does not return to park position and does not move except for up and down. As for the purge unit, it does 2 1/2 cycles back and forth sometimes 3. The carriage is moved to the left. I took the printer apart and can clearly see the purge unit. Also, the drive shaft for the belt does not move so the belt does not move (except manually) and therefore the carriage does not move.
