Has anybody known the B&W laserjets with an IrDA port, seen as a large black eye under the control panel ? I saw them at work 10 years ago. Then I bought an used 2300dn 4 years ago but the infrared port was gone. I can't stand wireless in my house, but it is practical to print from an IBM Thinkpad aimed at the printer (or just stick an USB to IrDA dongle in the back of the big computer instead of hooking a thick long parallel cable). I should look for an IrDA to USB or parallel print server.

HP Laserjet 2200 supports wireless printing from an IrDA-compliant device.

Regarding that matter, is there a possibility for a blue tooth printer-hand held device connectivity?

There may be bluetooth adapters but I dislike RF/microwave devices that require pairing or may tamper with my health, including PLC adapters. My print jobs are small enough to fit in a low bandwidth. I found the ACTiSYS ACT-IR100MP, but it costs more than I'm willing to pay for the ease of wireless links to a printer sitting in another corner of the room.
