One of my clients has a Xerox Phaser 8560 with 721.000 Page Impressions back in Januar 6th. I was there to maintenance the machine, it had some black and yellow streaks.
It build like a panzer, as the other "solid ink" based printers from Xerox (former Tektronics)
If your doning heavy fullpage color printing for manuals and stuff thats the thing you want.

I own two 8560's and one of them is on 13.4XX pages the other one on 4XX page (spare in storage)

Congrats to you all.

My Canon MX7600 must have about 10.000 pages (and maybe 1000 10x15 photos) and already needs maintenance.
I dismantled it last month, ink pads are still mostly white (I replaced the original sponges on the platen by strips cut from a kitchen sponge, and rinse them regularly).

Congratulations for that performance! I would love to reach 50% of this record with my own MP830. However my experience with MP830s is rather disappointing. I bought the first new one in 2006 or 2007. It failed after 3 years. I correlate the failure of the unit with the use of non original canon ink. I purchased a 2nd unit from Ebay. I didn't check the EEPROM repport at that time. It failed after 18 months, after massive print head problems. I bought a 3rd unit from Ebay which died yesterday after having a probable PGBK purge problem. I don't print much say about one or 2 copies a day. I believe I have printed more nozzle check prints that normal prints. I mostly used this AiO unit as a duplex scanned - which is indeed a great feature.
I am convinced that your performance is not purely coincidental: you had certainly the proper care and use for your printer.

@Teodule:

I just responded to a post of yours on a different thread. I posted a link to jimbo's waste ink pad replacement in which he details with photos taking apart the MP830. One of my comments was about use of high quality inks. What ink brand have you been using?

To keep things more orderly, consider using only one of the threads you have posted in for your questions and answers. The optimal would be a thread you started.

Wow! What type of ink system do you use for this? I am looking at a used 7000 (previously used original ink only) and now looking at ink options.

@Tigerman

Thanks for that info. Yes, I have been looking at cityinkexpress and their youtube videos. Do you use regular ink or Lyson? Would you recommend a CIS for start-stop operation, like once or twice a week printing? I have been using an Epson CX4300 CIS in the last 2 years and print once a week and perform head cleaning every month. Would the HP operate in the same way?

I used all the time dye ink, if you are printing not too much I prefer you using refillable cartridges from same site or from inksupply.com.
another thing about ciss that cant be using in draft mode of printer (high speed) it will cause unbalance of air in tubes.
and finally that all for your choice, have your the HP 7000 or not ? if you not still buy it why you not try 7110 the new version of it??!!
