I find it hard to print in Ubuntu with the canon driver provided by the company, it only offers 300 or 600 dpi print resolution, which sucks because i need 1200dpi and higher for photo printing and cd labeling. I haven't tried printing with HP printer in linux, as soon i get my hands on the printhead i will let you guys know how it will turn out, the HP driver and software for ubuntu is much better i think, it has alot to offer, even configuring wireless setup is simple. I have send a message to cups printer forum, and they say it has nothing to do with cups but the printer driver itself.

I suggest you edit the title of your thread to say what printer you have.

My experience with HP C309a printing on CD is that there is an error that makes it print off center.

I've done that, setting the resolution to 1200dpi, and print quality settings to High. There is no fix for it, unless Canon updates a fix for their driver.
Anyway this is not a problem in Windows. Just the driver for Linux.
