Hello all,

I don't know what happened and it posted before I had a chance to type this out.

Is it ok to leave the printhead without a cartridge overnight? I am in the middle of flushing the old cartridges and replacing them with new ones after changing the chip.

The wife called me away and I was unable to finish the job tonight. Having lost a printhead recently I am loath to playing games with the brand new one. So, would it be ok to leave the printhead slot empty overnight, or does it need to have contact with the sponge in order to not dry out?

I think you may have answered your own question. You really don't want the intake screen on the printhead to dry out. You may not have had any damage, but you will know when you refill the carts and do some printing. I'd run an additional cleaning cycle before printing anything.

Best to have an additional set of cartridges that you've refilled so you never have to leave carts out for any extended period of time.
