Getting Fingers Dirty
Dear all, in relation to my other post - wanting to print pure black and white without any colours - does anyone know which Canon printer has true grayscale printing?
My Canon s800 has, but you clearly see the dots (and I see some horizontal banding though the print head is aligned and all the nozzles seem to be working ok in the test). My reasoning was that if you could go to the fine print head of the IP4700 than the print quality, with its small dots would be perfect. However, from what I understand from many people on the net who have been trying this: it is impossible. The printer always mixes in color: it's even in the manual... (Is this Canon who tries to force us to spend more ink: pure B&W is much more gentle on the ink use! Especially since you can replace black only with 3rd party inks without any issues?)
Anyhow: which printer could still do this? The i965? And higher up? I would then try to obtain a second-hand with the highest resolution possible...
