Hi,

I am trying to modify the ink of epson r2400 to become solvent ink.

Could we modify the ink become solvent type ink ?

Or is there any printer brand(ink) could change to solvent ink.

Regards

hope so..that would be awesome!

i would think any type of solvent ink would ruin them though?

seems the printer would have to use high dollar solvent specific heads such as XAAR?

wonder what heads are in the EcoSolvent Roland wide format digital printers? (pretty sure epson, but are they epson heads not found in desktops?) Also, Mimaki and Mutoh have solvent heads....the older Arizona had XAARs. ($600 a head then?! times 24 heads or so!)

I have seen one in a small company. They have a special printhead that cost over $5k. It's a piezo printhead. It uses solvent oil based ink. When the printhead clogs they let the nozzles continue to shoot solvent for a couple of minutes. It's pretty neat.

Thanks for the reply.

We need the solvent printer cos we want print on 190 gsm art carton coated paper.

Could you advise us what kind printer we should buy.

But the printer must be A3 width print area, sheet by sheet input, monochrome is enough.

Could we find something like that.
