It's probably more valuable or useful as a whole printer although without a print head. But I know, unless you are willing to pay for a new print head it is pretty useless. Ip4300 is an excellent printer. I own one and love it. It should not cost you more than $15 for the printer without print head at the thrift store. If a new print head cost around $50 it is still worth it to make a complete printer. Of course there is some risk there. If the printer is defective it would be quite a blow to take. If you already haven an ip4300 then definitely take it and use it as a spare. I would get it because I have one.
Tin Ho after reading about Canon printers here for the last year I got lucky and picked up an iP3000 for $10.00 at the thrift store.
The iP3000 only needed a new black cart and light cleaning.
I am now looking for an iP5000 or a iP4500 and that is why I ask about the parts on the iP4300.
The thrift store makes no sense how they price things. They have a scratched up iP4000 with empty aftermarket carts and no paper cassette for $24.00. and the iP4300 with no print head for $10.00?
I am debating whether or not to buy the iP4300 for spare parts?
