Hi guys, I have seen the specs for both the printers mentioned above and have seen that many recommend that ip4500. but whats the difference between the two? one prominent difference i see is the nozzle count. so how would that affect my quality of prints, or the quality would be the same, just that my printout would be slower?

I have both the ip4200 and ip4500. I think the ip4300 is more similar to the ip4200 than it is to the ip4500. One major difference I notice between the ip4200 and ip4500 is in the output print of the nozzle check. The ip4200 gives what I call the normal printout of a nozzle check (for a four color dye based ink cartridge printer) - one band of Y and BK and two bands (one dark and one light) for C and M. The ip4500 still shows one band for the Y and BK, but three different shades for the C and M. It appears that the ip4500 is capable of a wider range of shades of the C & M - possibly more like one of the 6 cartridge photo printers that also have PM and PC cartridges. I don't know what the nozzle check printout for the ip4300 looks like.
One thing I do know is that my ip4500 prints photos much faster than the ip4200. I use QImage to print using custom profiles. With the ip4200 I would use Q=2 in the printer driver setup to get a print in a reasonable time. With the ip4500 I use Q=1 and it seems the prints come out as fast as the ip4200 does at Q=2. And my ip4500 is very quiet.
My opinion - I think my ip4500 does a better, and definitely faster, job on photos than my ip4200.
